  1. What is Markdown? Markdown is an easy to use markup language that helps create and format documents.
  2. Why do we use Markdown? The reasons to use markdown is that its portable, you can use it for websites, emails, notes, books etc. It is very versatile, it can be used on any device or operating systems. This translate to markdown being everywhere and used by many so there will be familiarity in many places you go!
  3. What symbol will create a heading in Markdown? The “#” is what we use to create headings. The more “#” you have the smaller the heading will appear.
  4. How many do you need to create the largest heading? You only need one “#” to create a large heading
  5. How many do you need to create the smallest heading? Six “#” will create the smallest heading
  6. When making text bold or italicized for emphasis, it is best practice to use which symbol? Using asterisks is a good practice for compatibility since markdown applications don’t always aggree with how to handle underscores.
  7. How do you create a link with Markdown? You have to inclose the link texts inside brackets and then follow that up by including the image’s URL inside parentheses.
  8. What are the three symbols you can use to create an unordered (bulleted) list with Markdown? You want to use dashes (-), asterisks (* ), or plus signs (+).

Things I want to know more about

What is the advantages of using dashes, asterisks or plus signs when trying to create an unordered list? Is there a way within markdown to customize some of the visual settings ie. color, animation etc.?
